It’s absolutely never too late! One of the things I’ve enjoyed about Substack, is it seems like it’s for everyone, regardless of where you are on life’s journey ✨
Thank you for this! I’m nearly 38 myself and the past year has been full of so many new things that I’ve felt far too old to be dealing with 😅 This is such a welcome reminder that none of us are alone in making or facing changes at whatever age or life stage we find ourselves in!
My age wasn’t something I really thought about until I hit about 35 but something has definitely shifted the last few years and I am suddenly very aware of the passage of time. I wish it would slow down a little! 😅
As an ‘older’ blogger I can confirm there are still many of us still blogging as we age. I am glad to hear that you are feeling it is still possible for you to do the same.
I'm glad you returned to the world of writing, because I really like reading you. And yes, when we get older the paths become narrower and with fewer exits, but still, it is worth taking them. All the best and happy birthday!
I think you should be very proud of having that many subscribers after only a month! I've been writing on Substack for 3 months and have only got 30 subscribers! It's not about numbers though - some topics just resonate with more people :)
I am surprised and delighted to have gained this many followers in my first month! The numbers aren’t really important to either, but I honestly thought no one would read, so it has kind of blown me away. I am very grateful for the support. ❤️
This is such a beautiful reflection and a reminder to all of us with more time and wisdom under our belts that there is a place for us. It's true that our choices will close off certain paths to us, but at 37, I find that I don't concern myself much with those roads not taken anymore. It's so nice to be in the part of life where there's not much longing for some alternate reality because the one we're in feels exactly right. Also, this whole post really called to mind Taylor Swift's song Nothing New, and it reminded me that, when I was a young blogger with a decent following, people were constantly trying to cut me down. It's kind of nice to be older and know that no one's really coming after the lady in her late thirties making bread and raising chickens 😂
Happy birthday! Thank you for sharing your words with us - I’ve only come across your substack recently but I’m excited to read more from you. Hope you have a lovely lovely year (and many more) ahead!
Yesterday I was asking the universe to help me focus all my creative energies in a cohesive way. And this morning I woke up and the first thing I did was open Substack. This is the 3rd post I’ve read this morning and all 3 have basically nudged me to commit to creating on Substack. Like you, my birthday is mid-September. Like you, I’m older (just turned 45). Like you I’ve doubted whether I’m too late, too old or too uninteresting to bother. But like you, and the other two authors I read this morning, I realise that it’s the ritual of creating rather than the result that’s important. So THANK YOU! From a fellow Virgo and new subscriber!
I’ve always believed age is no barrier having always admired seeing examples of this and now I find myself just turned 60 and have moved from Qld to Scotland so that my Scottish husband could return to his motherland after living in Australia for 38 years. My heart feels so full with the enormity of new experiences that await even though there has been much anxiety at times with living in another country. Simplicity and connection to earth like planning and creating a small edible garden in a different hemisphere and such a different climate brings joy and wonder and a knowing in the sense of calm this brings. Very much enjoying your posts 💕
Though, I have nowhere near the subscribers you have, I can relate to how much more significant it feels to have people subscribe to your words on Substack than following your Instagram account. My 25 Substack subscribers are way more meaningful than the 1k Instagram followers I had.

I am loving Substack so much! It is exactly what I have been missing. 🥰
Me too
Just how I feel! 🌿

Thank you! I think maybe if I had never left blogging, I wouldn't be overthinking it. It's the coming back that feels funny!

Thank you so much Rosa! 🥰

In a world that discourages book reading... there's still a community of us out here☺️

I wonder how many of us on Substack were bloggers back in the day?! A lot, I imagine. ❤️
Happy birthday, spring is a lovely time of year to be born. I really enjoyed reading this post, it's very timely for me :)
Thanks so much Jenny! ❤️

Thank you Eustacia! 💕
And of course... Happy Birthday 🎂
Hi Katie! This article caught my eye... I'm getting ready to turn 38 this spring... and I too love to bake, garden, and live the simple life.
I agree with you... it's never too late to try something new! I bet Australia is absolutely gorgeous in spring.🩷

Happy birthday for last week Katie x

A little late - Happy Birthday! I’m still getting the hang of reading stories on sub stack. Well done on what you’ve achieved in such a short time.
