Oh, I sooo relate to this! The amount of times I’ve put off writing for other things. It has been a never ending loop but easier now that kids are independent. Many years ago my sister gave me this sign for my kitchen. It’s been my motto ever since! I think you’re doing well for only two weeks in.
I have lots of weeding on my agenda this weekend too! But focaccia is a great idea… I might some some on now to have with soup for dinner. Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
Katie, look into The Organised Mum Method (known as TOMM) if you haven't already. It's by a British woman called Gemma Bray There's books, printable checklists, a podcast, an app with guided cleans, etc. There's also a 3 or 4 free guided cleans on her podcast. I follow a loose version of the method and it would well for me (but I don't have children, for full transparency). It's very geared towards families and mothers especially.
Although I’ve learned to think of dishes as a necessary loop (as in I mostly do them now lol), reframing it as part of a “never-ending loop of home cooked meals and comfy clean clothes” is such a positive, cozier way to think. A truer way, actually. Thank you for sharing that quote and your insights!
The sign said” A clean house is the sign of a wasted life”

Writing has fallen to the wayside year after year for me… I’m really trying to change that now! Love the sound of that sign. 😂
A lovely reminder about giving ourselves 'permission' to devote time to ourselves, and let the cycle of chores wait until tomorrow.
Right now I should be outside pulling weeds, but it's raining (yet again) so I can't.
Instead, I have some focaccia dough resting in the kitchen for lunch, and have given myself some time to write while the bread is proving.
:-)

Oh my goodness, that post resonates! Now subscribed and looking forward to reading more.

Oh, thanks for sharing! I will have a look. I do have a loose self-created “system” but I’m sure it could be improved!
